Convert a bank statement PDF to Excel without uploading it
Bank statements hold account numbers, names and a full record of someone's spending. If they belong to a client, sending them to a free upload site may break your engagement letter. A PDF with selectable text can be read on your own computer instead.
In Tickproof
- Open Tickproof and add the PDF. Nothing leaves the page.
- Read the status next to the file. It shows whether every line ties to the statement's running balance.
- Download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks CSV or Xero CSV.
How to tell a conversion is right
Do not trust a table because it looks tidy. Take the opening balance, add every line, and compare the answer with the closing balance. If each line also agrees with the running balance, a misread digit has nowhere to hide. Tickproof does this for you and names the line that fails.
What will not work
Scans and phone photos hold pictures of text. They need OCR, which Tickproof does not do yet. Ask the bank for a downloaded PDF or a CSV.
