        How it works

        1. Add the statements. Each line is checked against the statement's running balance, so a misread figure shows up instead of slipping through.
        2. Add your books. Export the bank account's register from QuickBooks, Xero or any ledger.
        3. Compare. Lines are paired by amount and nearby date, and whatever is left over is sorted into the problems below.

        What it finds

        Missing entries
        Bank lines that never made it into the books.
        Phantom entries
        Book lines the bank never saw.
        Double entries
        The same payment recorded twice, for example by a bank feed and by hand.
        Wrong amounts
        The right payee with a different figure, with a flag when digits look swapped.
        Wrong direction
        A payment entered as money in, or the reverse.
        Statement gaps
        One statement's closing balance that does not meet the next one's opening balance.

        Check the privacy claim yourself

        Open this page, turn off your Wi-Fi, then run a comparison. It still works, because the reading and matching happen on your computer. There is no account and no server that receives your files.

        Questions

        Which banks work?
        Any PDF with selectable text and a table of dated lines is worth trying. Tickproof reads the layout rather than a fixed list of banks, and tells you when a statement does not tie to its own balance. If yours fails, send the column layout, not the statement itself, to agr.tung@agentmail.to.
        What about scanned statements?
        Scans and photos are not read yet. Tickproof says so instead of guessing.
        How is this different from a PDF converter?
        A converter stops at the spreadsheet. Tickproof also matches the lines to your books and sorts the differences, and it proves each line against the running balance first.
        Does it change anything in QuickBooks or Xero?
        No. It only reads the files you add. You decide what to fix.
